About Homefront Coaching
Krista Mikos
I have been training and coaching for the past 15 years and have been professionally
life coaching since January, 2005. My husband, an active duty Army Officer, and I are
stationed in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to this assignment, we were stationed in Friedberg
and then Heidelberg, Germany. During that time, I didn't see much of my husband due
to his being on field training exercises and operational deployments. My last year in
Heidelberg, I was the Thrift Shop Chair on the Board of the Heidelberg Officer's and
Civilian Spouses Club.
I have been trained by Coach U and, as a member of the International Coach
Federation (ICF), I adhere to the ICF's Code of Ethics.
I coach one-on-one, in groups and I lead tele-classes. Homefront Coaching is
an off-shoot of my company, LifeStream Coaching, Coaching for Life's Dreams.
I bought our Great Dane, Laska, in Poland. She is pictured here at only 1 week old.
Instead of a war baby, we were blessed with a war puppy!
In my life, I have a number of fulfilled life's dreams: After
obtaining my Master's Degree from the University of
Michigan in Environmental Science, I worked for 8 years at
the National Institute of Standards and Technology which
is part of the Department of Commerce in Washington DC.
My last position held there was Senior Standards Specialist.
During that period, among other assignments, I worked as
an analyst for the White House's Office of Management and
Budget.
I have created a nation-wide network of consultant/engineers to help smaller
manufacturers incorporate pollution prevention into their business practices. I
created and delivered training programs to this network.
I have published numerous professional articles in English, and have had two of them
translated into German and Chinese for publication in those countries.
I was a Humboldt Chancellor Fellow in Germany which is roughly equivalent to being a
Fulbright Scholar.
I led U.S. Delegations to international negotiations on standards at home and abroad.
I bungee jumped in New Zealand off a bridge into a gorge!
I have backpacked through Asia, lived abroad for 5 years of my life, am fluent in
German and have seen almost all 50 States.
I starred in a public service TV commercial with a 4 star General in the U.S. Army.
I climbed to the summit of a 14,000 foot mountain in the Colorado Rockies.
I was the Chairman of the Board of a Thrift Store on an Army Base in Heidelberg, Germany.
I have ridden elephants in the jungles of Nepal in search of rhinos and tigers.
I have finished four sprint triathlons each of which entailed swimming a half of a
mile, biking 15, and then running 3.1 miles.
I am now a successful life coach the best job in the whole world!
